Greenwich, CT

Fairfield County

Area:

  • Residential area

Event:

  • After a storm

Observed Impact: Approximately 44” of water flooded my home from the impacts of the Suburban Avenue Bridge engineering failure from years ago when the town of Greenwich decided to focus on aesthetics rather than engineering and safety.  I have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to repair all the damage.  I had to hire a mold remediation company to clean the toxic dangerous mess. I need new HVAC, new hot water heaters, new floors, new walls, new doors, new driveway as all my pebbles were taken down stream.  I lost all my furniture, toys, games, winter items and precocious photos.  We could never have predicted this much water would invade our home.  It always floods on Suburban Avenue and the poor souls that live there must have also had tons of water.  That bridge has caused the people of Cos Cob some real heartache.

Observed Damage Impact:

  • Extensive damage

Damage: With the constant flooding on Suburban Avenue I have witnessed time and time again the Drawing Room and other businesses in despair over their drastically flooded spaces of business.
