  • Hi Anita, when doing back through some older reports I noticed on this report from the Molt Blitz in June that the location is marked as an inland site on Orcas Island not close to a beach. Do you remember which beach it was? If so, I can go in and update this report and make it public. I also noticed that all of the crabs you identified as Dungeness are in fact red rock crabs (everything below the calipers in the photo). While both species can be similar in size, shape, and color, the marginal teeth of red rock crab are scalloped and more blunt than the sharp marginal teeth of Dungeness crab! Thank you and Happy Molt Searching in 2025!
