    Hi Kent, Thanks for sharing your observation of the large number of dead red rock crabs you noticed. With groups of dead crabs this time of year, it’s possible they got caught in the wrong place and suffered in the heat of a long summer low-tide or were exposed to a larger stressor like pollution or a local toxic algal bloom. Certainly an interesting data point and something to keep tabs on! Glad to have you part of the Molt Search community keeping eyes on the beach!
