Comments: Observations from mainland suggest considerable beach and dune erosion along the outer beaches fronting Chatham's mainland. Tip of north BEach Island was overwashed (not unexpected) and the beach south of the Chatham inlet (at the Chatham lighthouse) showed signs of overwash and narrowing. This is also expected as the beach continues to narrow.
