Good morning, James and yes, this is the “Cairdeas” and DVRP # JF18-006D. We are very familiar with this vessel and the Kitsap County Sheriff’s marine unit has also been notified. Plus, the Department of Ecology is also aware too. Please let us know if the vessels disposition changes and for now we are just monitoring till the vessel meets the definition of derelict and/or abandoned. Thanks for the report and enjoy your day.

This ship was previously seen in the Hood Canal by Seabeck. Apparently someone has towed it into Dyes Inlet and left it by Tracyton beach.
It’s possible that it is the MV Cairdeas, but I haven’t been able to verify that yet. Here is a link to a pic and some info on the Cairdeas. https://www.flickr.com/photos/old_salt7/28474588697/in/photostream/

The ship is no longer anchored in front of Tracyton. It’s present location is not known at this time.
The vessel has additional dark paint on the hull above the waterline. It is in Phinney Bay.
