Impacts Reported

Roads

Street/Road: Unspecified

Marinas and Harbors
Buildings
Hazardous Materials
Beach

State: Accessible

Coastal Structures

Specific Impacts:

  • Damaged stairs/walkovers

Comments: Town Neck Beach boardwalk has buckled in locations where drainage "creeks" run underneath

Natural Resources

Specific Impacts:

  • Eroded beach
  • Eroded dune
  • Eroded bank/bluff
  • Overwashed beach/dune

Comments: Extensive over wash over much of the barrier beach east of the boardwalk has caused beach to flatten, retreat into the salt marsh, narrow, and lose much of its vegetation. Current trend suggests that the beach's capacity to protect the salt marsh and adjacent upland areas and structures has been greatly diminished even for lower energy storm events.
