    Another textbook photo, Kim. Thanks for continuing to lay out your finds so clearly and remembering to put in your calipers! Besides that big ole red rock crab, the rest of your batch are all shore crabs. You have a few lighter purple shore crabs, in addition to those with a deep purple shade and tell-tale polkadot claws. The lightest orange one is just at an angle that makes it tough for me to tell for sure, but it seems to have a slightly square-er carapace, with marginal teeth that point out more (the best tell is if there are tiny hairs on its legs, though those can wear off molts with time), which makes me think it may be a lone hairy shore crab in the mix of purple shores. Great haul! Hope it was a fun time out there.
