Type description: Naval and/or navigational Marine Buoy; Navy Gray colored, with metal bar protrusions and peeling possibly hazardous paint. Both DNR and the US Navy have denied responsibility and/or ownership, but have been responsive to suggestions who else to call to attempt to get it removed from Dabob Bay. It moves about 75-175 feet at every storm or high tide to another property, submerging itself and very dangerous to unsuspecting boaters who are not expecting a 6 foot naval buoy to be in their pathway. This risk to life, community and pristine Dabob Bay needs to be removed. I hope the Coast Guard, contacted today, will realize the risk and remove the errant buoy. Thanks to all who have passed names, numbers and contact information along. This buoy is all metal, naval gray peeling paint, and has several welded stations for instruments, lights, or other attached. Be warned/be careful along the west shoreline of Dabob Bay, until this errant buoy finds its owner and is removed.

It’s a risk to the community and simply needs to be removed. It’s too heavy for local residents to haul off the beach (weighs hundreds of lbs./all metal). It looks salvageable with some equipment to reuse/repaint this errant buoy.
