I'm concluding that the 25 shells that look like dungeness are really gracefuls but I'm not sure! I can only count 9 teeth but see no notches below the 9th. Possible the intact red rocks are dead but definitely empty. This location is just south of the stream at gulf Rd ed ric [added Dungeness count - LW 5/5/26]

Hi Kim, You were right on track with your initial hunch on these. The major group on the left of all your red rock crabs is all Dungeness crabs. The marginal teeth count can be tricky for me when I’m figuring out which bumps near the eyes to start on to get the expected number.
