  • Hi Warren, thanks for your report! The five lighter color crabs you identified in your report as Dungeness are juvenile red rock crabs. A defining feature to identify between these two species is the protruding rostrum between the eyes of red rock crabs which all the crabs in this molt search photo have. I have updated your report to reflect the species update. Happy molt searching!
