Storm Report by Ron Rozsa
Damage Reported
"Reported by Richard Orson - lives on Waverly Road. Town had Jersey barriers installed on seaward side of Route 146 - placed parallel to the road. These barriers were moved across the road and sand from the beach created a berm preventing/minimizing flood waters from flowing down Waverly Park Road. Vehicular access to and from Waverly and Crouch Roads was not possible due to over wash sands. Rich did not mention any damage to homes. Surge height at Guilford Harbor was 9.0' NGVD 1929 and 9.4' at New Haven Harbor. (Time of observation was not provided by observer - number above is a mere guess). Photo attached shows pre-storm position of barriers from a Bing Map."
